| “You need to go into broadcasting” were the words spoken to Andrea in June 2002 by Mr. Bo Barredo, a Filipino friend who heard her speak at a church event. In June 2003, Andrea was hosting her very first show. Since then she has produced and hosted hundreds of programs for community television. |

| In 2009, Andrea founded Positive Channels, a production company with the mission to use the power of all media for good. Through Positive Channels, she produces and hosts Speaking with Andrea and Breaking the Chains, both airing on Channel 13, and Inside Nonprofits with Andrea Copeland, which airs on Channel 10, as well as other special productions. Andrea is often asked to moderate and emcee community panels and events. She’s been dubbed “Charlottesville’s Oprah” because of her work with Positive Channels. |
| Andrea's career in television broadcasting wasn’t one she sought, but, rather, was called to, and has a passion for. She's been blessed to interview high profile figures from Ambassadors to Premiers to Hollywood actors to community members, her favorite. Her shows are viewed locally, nationally and internationally. The Breaking the Chains series has even been discussed at Ivy League Universities. |

| Andrea was recognized with an Excellence in Broadcast Award for her show Speaking with Andrea, and Inside Nonprofits was nominated for a 3CMA Award in Austin, TX. In February 2011, Andrea was selected a winner for one of the four inaugural Charlottesville Woman Magazine 4 Under 40 Awards. She's also written for and been featured in other local publications for her work in broadcasting and the community. |
| A native of Charlottesville, Andrea graduated from Piedmont Virginia Community College and Old Dominion University. She currently serves on the Charlottesville Community Scholarship Program board and is a member of Women United and the Chamber Minority Business Council (CMBC). She is also a mentor with the Community Investment Collaborative (CIC) program. |

| Andrea is currently employed with the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce overseeing the Leadership Charlottesville Program, Chamber Business Academy and the newly formed Chamber Minority Business Council; and, is an active member of her church, Iglesia RevoluZion (Revolution Church). |
